Following Up

Good morning dessert lovers!
It's been a little quiet over here, but we're back and ready for new and exciting things! Lets make 2014 a great year for the cupcake world!

To catch you up on a few things,  we are no longer selling cupcakes on Sunday's at the Mayzee Road Market, in Nanawale. The owner of the market is moving on to selling her produce to local markets. We are still available by phone, email, or text for custom orders.

We recently added a new cupcake to our menu, so be sure to keep looking at our site for new and upcoming flavors. Our most recent flavor is a lemon cupcake topped with a lemon butter cream frosting and fresh lemon zest.

Hello Everyone!

And thank you for being so patient with us. We see it's been almost a year since our last submission, but just know we're back and bigger then ever!

We've had some additions to the company. Meet Penny, our newest employee! She's our first born daughter who was born January 28th. So needless to say we've had our hands full!

However, we've come back with some exciting news! For starters we've entered a contest that we would love to have your support in. Just click on the link below and vote for our "Tiki Cupcake" they were inspired by Disneyland's famous attraction, "the Tiki Room".

Secondly we would like to announce that our cupcakes can be purchased at Spudnuts donuts on select days through out the week. For up to date information, become a fan on Facebook! Spudnuts is located in Canoga Park, CA on the corner of Roscoe and Topanga blvd.

Streusel Cupcakes

This next cupcake is perfect for any morning breakfast along with a cup of coffee. I loved making these because it had a little different preparation then any of the other cupcakes I've made. The batter consists of flour, baking soda, coarse salt, unsalted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Once the ingredients were mixed I made a streusel topping to put on top of the batter as it baked to create a crumb like coating. The topping has to be made ahead of time, because once mixed it needs to be refrigerated for up to half hour. The ingredients are flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, coarse salt, and unsalted butter. Once that was all mixed, I put it in the oven for twenty minutes at 350 degrees. To make it even more yummy.....I put together a milk glaze with just two ingredients. Milk (of course) and confectioners' sugar. The two combined made a sort of sticky drizzle, similar to what you'd find on top of a cinnamon bun but only thinner. The cupcake turned out to be amazing! The cinnamon combined with the milk glaze was out of this world! Imagine a coffee cake, snickerdoodle and a cinnamon roll all rolled into one! yum! Travis really liked it, as well as my mom's co-workers. I made a special delivery the other day to try out some new customers, including the UPS delivery guy! Now available for purchase at $2.00 each Please place all orders at www.CupcakesbyColey.com Photography: Travis J. Premo
